Almost always the estimate ignored something knowable — a water tank that shades three modules from two o’clock, soiling in a dusty month, temperature derating in May, or a load figure the customer inflated. None of these are surprises. They were left out because a bigger number won the order.
The generation estimate project requires every assumption stated in writing, because an installer who quotes a number they can meet builds a business, and one who quotes a flattering number builds a complaints queue.
A string in daylight is live whether or not anything is connected, and there is no breaker at the module.
That single fact governs how the practical sessions are run — connector discipline, isolators in the right places, testing in a defined order, and never assuming a circuit is dead because the inverter is off. It is the most important safety difference between solar and ordinary electrical work.

On-grid with net metering is better economics for most homes with a usable supply; hybrid earns its place where outages are genuinely frequent. A well-designed array on a badly designed frame is a liability in the first strong pre-monsoon wind.

Yes, at least at diploma or trade level. You are working with DC strings that stay live in daylight and cannot simply be switched off, and with grid-connected AC. The electrical design module assumes you can size a cable and understand earthing. Electricians and diploma holders are the natural audience.
