Placement assistance

Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What is included

  • A place in the monthly placement drive, held every third Saturday
  • The readiness programme every second Saturday — mock interviews and preparation
  • CV review against the specific roles you are targeting
  • Portfolio review, so your project work is presented the way a reviewer will read it
  • Access to the vacancy pool employers send directly to the Samyak network
  • Guidance on which roles realistically fit your background and which do not
  • A place in the next drive, with coaching, if you are not selected in this one

What is not included

  • Any guarantee of a job, an interview, or a particular salary
  • Placement at a named or partner company
  • Applying to jobs on your behalf
  • Support before you have completed the course and its project work
  • Visa, relocation or overseas placement assistance

Why this course is built around one simulated year

Most Tally courses are menu tours. You are shown where the voucher entry screen is, you enter three transactions, and you move on. Then you reach a real job, meet three hundred transactions and a trial balance that does not agree, and discover you were taught the software but not the work.

So this course is structured around a single simulated trading company that you carry through a full financial year. Every module adds to the same set of books. By the finalisation module you are closing accounts you opened in week two, which means errors you made early actually surface — exactly as they do in a real job.

The error diagnosis project

The fourth project hands you a set of books with deliberate errors in it and asks you to find them.

This is the most disliked and most useful thing we do. In real accounting work, nobody tells you which entry is wrong. You have a report that does not agree and a deadline. Learning to work backwards from a mismatch — narrowing by period, then by group, then by voucher — is the skill that distinguishes someone who can be left alone with a set of books.

About GST

GST rules change. Rates get revised, return formats are updated, and filing procedures evolve.

We teach the structure and the reasoning — how input tax credit works, why reverse charge exists, what makes a supply inter-state — because that is stable even when specifics shift. We also teach reconciliation against portal data in Excel, since that is where real discrepancies are found. Always check current rates and formats against the GST portal before filing.

Questions

Tally Prime with GST — frequently asked questions

Is Tally still in demand with newer cloud accounting software available?

In India, yes, and by a wide margin among small and medium businesses. Cloud tools have gained ground in startups and larger companies, but Tally remains the default across most of the SME market, which is where the majority of entry-level accounting jobs are. Learning it is the pragmatic choice for an Indian accounting career.

Do I need a commerce background for this course?

It helps, but it is not required. The first module covers the accounting logic — debits, credits, ledgers, groups — before touching the software. What matters more is comfort with detail and a willingness to check your own work, since most of the job is noticing when something does not agree.

Will this course prepare me to file GST returns independently?

It prepares you to produce and reconcile the data GST returns are built from, which is the accountant's job in practice. Actually filing on the portal is a short procedural step. We cover the return formats, input tax credit rules and reconciliation against portal data, which is where mistakes actually happen.

What is the difference between Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime?

Tally Prime is the current generation, with a reworked interface, better navigation and search, and ongoing statutory updates. The underlying accounting logic is the same, so someone who knows ERP 9 adapts within days. We teach Prime because that is what employers are running now.
