Placement assistance

Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What is included

  • A place in the monthly placement drive, held every third Saturday
  • The readiness programme every second Saturday — mock interviews and preparation
  • CV review against the specific roles you are targeting
  • Portfolio review, so your project work is presented the way a reviewer will read it
  • Access to the vacancy pool employers send directly to the Samyak network
  • Guidance on which roles realistically fit your background and which do not
  • A place in the next drive, with coaching, if you are not selected in this one

What is not included

  • Any guarantee of a job, an interview, or a particular salary
  • Placement at a named or partner company
  • Applying to jobs on your behalf
  • Support before you have completed the course and its project work
  • Visa, relocation or overseas placement assistance

Follow one purchase order all the way

The fastest way to understand MM is to watch a single transaction cross the whole system.

A requisition is raised and released. It becomes a purchase order. Goods arrive and a receipt posts, which moves stock and simultaneously creates an accounting document. An invoice arrives, gets matched against both, and the vendor becomes payable. Six documents, one purchase, and every one of them exists because of a control somebody needed.

The second project is exactly that run, traced document number by document number. Once you have done it, the configuration modules stop being abstract.

Movement types are the language

Almost everything that happens to stock in SAP is a movement type, and each one carries its own accounting consequence.

Learning them as a list is useless. Learning what each one did to stock value and to the general ledger is the thing that makes an MM consultant useful to a finance team — and it is the difference between someone who can post a goods receipt and someone who can explain why the stock account moved.

Where MM sits against the other modules

MM buys and stores. SD sells and delivers. FICO records and reports all of it.

They are three careers, not three difficulty levels, and the honest advice is to take the one your existing work supports. Someone from a stores or purchase background arrives here already understanding the problem the software solves, which is a genuine head start that no amount of study replaces.

What we do not claim

The certificate from this course is ours, not SAP’s.

Official SAP certification is booked and paid for directly with SAP, and no private institute can issue it. We will explain what the official exam covers and what it costs if you want that route, but we will not blur the distinction to make this course sound like something it is not.

Questions

SAP MM (Materials Management) — frequently asked questions

Do I need a procurement background for SAP MM?

It is not mandatory in the way accounting is mandatory for FICO, but it helps a great deal. Someone who has raised a purchase order, chased a delivery or counted stock understands immediately why the documents exist. Without that, the first two modules will feel abstract until the cycle project makes it concrete.

How is SAP MM different from FICO and SD?

MM covers buying and stock, FICO covers finance and costing, SD covers selling and delivery. They are three different careers rather than three levels. MM suits people from purchase, stores, warehouse or supply chain; take the module your existing experience supports, because that experience is what makes you hireable.

What is a three-way match and why does it matter so much?

It is the check that the purchase order, the goods receipt and the vendor invoice agree before anybody gets paid. It is the single control that stops a company paying for goods it never received, and most of what an MM consultant configures around invoice verification exists to enforce it. The second project makes you run one properly.

Is this an official SAP certification?

No. This is training and the certificate is issued by Samyak. SAP's own certification is booked and paid for through SAP directly. No private institute can award it, and we would rather tell you that than let the word "certification" do work it should not.

Will I get practice access to a system?

Yes. Practice server access is part of the course, and the projects require you to configure in your own client rather than follow a recorded demonstration. Configuration you have done yourself is what gives you something to say in an interview.
