Placement assistance

Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What is included

  • A place in the monthly placement drive, held every third Saturday
  • The readiness programme every second Saturday — mock interviews and preparation
  • CV review against the specific roles you are targeting
  • Portfolio review, so your project work is presented the way a reviewer will read it
  • Access to the vacancy pool employers send directly to the Samyak network
  • Guidance on which roles realistically fit your background and which do not
  • A place in the next drive, with coaching, if you are not selected in this one

What is not included

  • Any guarantee of a job, an interview, or a particular salary
  • Placement at a named or partner company
  • Applying to jobs on your behalf
  • Support before you have completed the course and its project work
  • Visa, relocation or overseas placement assistance

One model, and nothing can disagree

The strongest argument for BIM is not speed. It is consistency.

In 2D drafting, a wall moved in plan and forgotten in section is a live site error, and drawing sets drift apart quietly across a long project. In Revit the section is a view of the same wall — the disagreement is not possible, because there is only one wall.

Schedules and quantities come from that same model, which is why quantity surveyors benefit from BIM as much as designers do.

Families are where the real skill is

Anyone can place a door from the shipped library.

Indian construction uses sections, fittings and details that those libraries do not contain, and a building modelled entirely from generic families documents something that will not be built. Making a parametric family that flexes properly across sizes without breaking is what distinguishes a BIM modeller from a Revit user, and it is why families get their own module and their own project.

Coordination before the site finds it

Linking the structural model and running an interference check takes an afternoon.

Discovering the same clash on site — a beam through a duct, a column in a doorway — costs weeks. The last project makes you find them on a screen, which is the entire commercial argument for BIM and the reason public projects increasingly require it.

Both tools, honestly

Revit has largely taken over building documentation in larger Indian practices. AutoCAD is still everywhere for 2D detailing, small jobs and coordinating with consultants who have not moved.

Most offices need both right now. Learn this, keep the AutoCAD, and be the person who can work either way.

Questions

Revit Architecture (BIM) — frequently asked questions

Is Revit replacing AutoCAD?

For building documentation in larger practices, largely yes, and BIM is increasingly required on public projects. AutoCAD remains everywhere for 2D detailing, small jobs and coordination with consultants who have not moved. Most architectural offices in India currently need both, and the honest advice is to learn both.

What is the actual advantage of BIM?

One model produces everything, so they cannot disagree. In 2D drafting, a wall moved in plan and forgotten in section is a site error waiting to happen. In Revit that is impossible, because the section is a view of the same wall. Schedules and quantities come from the same source, which is why quantity surveying benefits as much as design.

Do I need to build families, or can I use what comes with Revit?

You will need to build them. Indian construction uses sections, fittings and details that the shipped libraries do not contain, and a project modelled entirely from generic families produces documentation that does not match what will be built. Family creation is the skill that separates a Revit user from a BIM modeller.

Is this useful for interior design work?

Yes. Interior packages need the same coordinated documentation — plans, elevations, sections, finish schedules and quantities — and Revit produces them from one model. Several interior designers take this specifically to produce construction documentation rather than presentation visuals.
