Deliverable: An organic form sculpted at high detail, retopologised to a low-polygon mesh, with the detail baked into a normal map and both versions shown side by side.
Deliverable: A complete scene rendered in Cycles with passes, composited and colour graded inside Blender, presented against the raw render.
Deliverable: A fifteen-second animation with deliberate timing and easing, rendered and cut in the video sequencer with sound.

The single biggest predictor of whether somebody gets good at 3D is how much they practise, and the single biggest obstacle is not owning the software.
Blender removes that entirely. You leave the course and keep working the same evening, on your own machine, with the same tools. Over a year that difference is larger than any feature comparison between packages.

That is unusual, and for someone learning it is a genuine advantage — you see how the stages connect without exporting between four programs and losing something each time. Studios split these across specialised tools for good reasons, but understanding the whole pipeline first makes you better in any of them.
Shading in Blender is node-based, and beginners tend to avoid it by adjusting the Principled BSDF until something looks acceptable.
That works for simple materials and stops working immediately after. Learning the node editor properly means you can build a material that does what you intend rather than what a slider approximates, and the same node thinking carries into compositing later.
Large Indian animation and VFX houses run Maya and Houdini, and their advertisements say so.
Blender is strong in advertising, product visualisation, indie games and freelance work, and it is growing. The practical route many students take is Blender first — because they can practise — then Maya in a few focused weeks, since the thinking transfers and only the interface is new.

Yes, and increasingly so — it is used in advertising, product visualisation, indie games and a growing number of small studios. Large animation and VFX houses in India still run Maya and Houdini pipelines. If you want a studio job, learn Maya as well; if you want freelance or small-studio work, Blender alone is a viable basis.
Because it is free, which means you can practise every evening without a licence, and because the concepts transfer almost entirely. Many students learn Blender first for that reason and pick up Maya afterwards in a few weeks. The 3D thinking is the expensive part; the interface is not.
Cycles traces light physically and is slower and more accurate. Eevee approximates in real time and is dramatically faster with visible limitations on reflections and refractions. For a still product render, Cycles. For an animated sequence on a deadline, Eevee is often the professional choice. The course teaches choosing between them rather than defaulting.
For the classroom sessions, machines are provided. For practising at home, Blender runs on modest hardware for modelling and Eevee work; Cycles rendering is where a weak machine becomes painful. The rendering module covers working within limited hardware, which is a real constraint for most students.
