Deliverable: A normalised schema with an entity diagram, justified keys, and an application querying it, including evidence of transaction handling.
A Level qualifying project
Deliverable: The full project the qualification requires, with requirements, design documentation, source under version control, a test record and a report you can defend.
Module mock examinations
Deliverable: Timed full-length papers across every module with a written analysis of where marks were lost and what was corrected.

A genuine step up, not a longer O Level
O Level teaches you to build things. A Level asks why you built them that way.
Data structures come with complexity analysis rather than as a list of containers. Databases are designed and normalised rather than queried. Software engineering covers process and documentation, which is unglamorous and is exactly what distinguishes this level. The project is correspondingly larger.
Candidates who treat it as more of the same tend to struggle in the second half.
The viva is real
An examiner will ask why you chose that data structure, why the schema is shaped that way, what happens under concurrent access.
Those questions cannot be prepared for by memorising a report. They are answered by having genuinely made the decisions, which is why project work runs alongside the syllabus here rather than being compressed into the final months.

NIELIT conducts the examinations and issues the certificate. We prepare you for them. Registration and examination fees are paid to NIELIT directly and are not part of your course fee.

If a recruitment notification names A Level, no private certificate substitutes for it and the answer is straightforward. If your goal is private-sector work, a focused course with a strong portfolio usually reaches employability faster, and we will say so — it is a shorter sale and the right advice.

What is the difference between O Level and A Level?
O Level is the foundation qualification covering IT tools, web design and introductory programming. A Level is a genuine step up — data structures with complexity analysis, database design, software engineering process and networks, with a substantially larger project. O Level or a degree is normally the entry requirement for A Level.
Who conducts the examination and issues the certificate?
NIELIT, in both cases. No private institute issues an A Level certificate. We prepare you across every module, supervise the project work and run mock papers. Registration and examination fees are paid to NIELIT separately from the course fee.
Is A Level worth it compared with a private course?
It depends entirely on what you need. If a recruitment notification names it, it is worth it and a private certificate is not a substitute. If you are optimising purely for private-sector employability, a focused course with a strong portfolio usually gets there faster. We will tell you which applies to your situation rather than steering you to the longer programme.
How demanding is the project?
More than most candidates expect, and it carries real weight in the result. Examiners probe design decisions in the viva, so a project you did not build yourself is exposed quickly. Project work has its own module here and runs alongside the syllabus rather than being left to the final months.
Do I need to complete O Level first?
O Level, a graduate degree or an equivalent qualification is normally required for entry, and NIELIT sets those criteria rather than us. Bring your qualifications in and we will check them against the current requirements before you enrol, since the criteria are theirs to change.
