Short documentary edit
Deliverable: A three-minute piece cut from supplied interview and B-roll footage, with mixed audio, corrected colour and titles, structured around one clear idea.
Course
Editing taught as decision-making — what to cut and why, how to fix bad audio, and how to export once correctly — using the tool most professional edit suites actually run.

Deliverable: A three-minute piece cut from supplied interview and B-roll footage, with mixed audio, corrected colour and titles, structured around one clear idea.
Deliverable: A dialogue scene with genuinely poor location sound, repaired and mixed to the point where every word is intelligible, submitted alongside the untouched original.
Deliverable: One finished edit exported correctly for YouTube, Instagram vertical and a broadcast specification, each at the right resolution, bitrate and loudness.
Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
There is a version of this course that spends twelve weeks on transitions and effects, and its graduates make videos that look like a software demonstration.
Editing is deciding. What the piece is about, which shot earns its place, where an audience starts to drift, and which of your favourite moments has to go because it does not serve the whole. Those decisions are the job, and the software is how you carry them out.
So the story module sits in the middle of the course rather than being implied, and the graphics module is the shortest one here.
An audience will forgive a soft shot. They will not sit through dialogue they cannot make out.
The audio module is a full sixth of the course because bad sound is the single most common reason a piece feels amateur, and because most of it is fixable. The second project hands you genuinely poor location audio and asks you to rescue it, which is a more useful skill than any effect in the software.
A finished edit exported wrong is a finished edit nobody watches properly.
Wrong resolution for the platform, wrong bitrate, loudness that gets turned down automatically by YouTube. The last module covers the actual settings for each destination, and the third project is a single edit delivered correctly to three of them.
Filmora is a good tool and there is no snobbery here — it is faster to learn and entirely adequate for social content.
Premiere is what edit suites run, and the gap shows on audio mixing, colour with scopes, and multi-camera work. If you are editing for a living, this is the one. If you are editing your own content, Filmora will not hold you back and it will get you working sooner.
Questions
Not for the classroom batches — systems and footage are provided. If you want to practise at home, editing is genuinely demanding on hardware, but the proxy workflow in the first module exists precisely so a modest machine can still cut high-resolution footage. We cover it early for that reason.
Filmora is far quicker to pick up and fine for social content and simple work. Premiere Pro is what production houses, agencies and broadcasters actually run, and it does things Filmora cannot — proper audio mixing, scopes-based colour, multi-camera. If editing is a hobby or a side income, start with Filmora. If it is the career, start here.
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. Professional editing is deciding what to cut and where, then making audio and colour invisible enough that nobody notices them. A piece full of transitions almost always reads as amateur. The story module carries more weight here than the graphics one for exactly that reason.
No — this is post-production. It does not teach camera operation, lighting or sound recording. It does teach you to recognise what makes footage difficult to edit, which tends to improve how people shoot, but the shooting itself is a separate subject.
Three details is all we need. A course advisor will call you back.
Motion graphics and visual effects built on compositing fundamentals, so a keyed subject sits inside the shot rather than on top of it, and an animation moves like it has weight.
The fast route to publishable video — cutting, captions, music and correct export for each platform, using a tool you can be productive in within a fortnight.
Design principles first and software second, because employers hire for typography and layout judgement — the tools are learnable in weeks and the judgement is not.
SEO, paid advertising, content, email and analytics taught around measurement, with real campaigns on real budgets and an emphasis on attributing results honestly.
