Placement assistance

Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What is included

  • A place in the monthly placement drive, held every third Saturday
  • The readiness programme every second Saturday — mock interviews and preparation
  • CV review against the specific roles you are targeting
  • Portfolio review, so your project work is presented the way a reviewer will read it
  • Access to the vacancy pool employers send directly to the Samyak network
  • Guidance on which roles realistically fit your background and which do not
  • A place in the next drive, with coaching, if you are not selected in this one

What is not included

  • Any guarantee of a job, an interview, or a particular salary
  • Placement at a named or partner company
  • Applying to jobs on your behalf
  • Support before you have completed the course and its project work
  • Visa, relocation or overseas placement assistance

Publishable from the first project

Six weeks is short, so nothing here is an exercise for its own sake.

The first project is three vertical reels that are genuinely ready to post. The second is a full YouTube video with a thumbnail. The third is a client-style brief delivered in two aspect ratios. If you complete the course you have a small body of published work, which is what actually gets a freelance editor their second job.

Where the ceiling is

Filmora is a real tool and we are not sniffy about it. It is also not what a production house runs.

Multi-camera work, scopes-based colour, proper audio mixing and long-form projects are where it starts to strain, and if you are heading for a post- production job you will need Premiere Pro or Resolve. Knowing that now is more useful than finding out at an interview.

Captions are not optional

Most social video is watched with the sound off.

That makes captions part of the edit rather than a finishing touch, and it makes readability a real constraint — size, contrast, position above the interface elements, and time on screen for someone reading rather than skimming. The text module treats it as seriously as the cutting.

The music problem

New creators lose videos to copyright claims constantly, and it is entirely avoidable.

The audio module covers where to get music you are actually allowed to use and what each licence permits. It is twenty minutes of the course and it saves the kind of mistake that takes down a channel someone spent a year building.

Questions

Video Editing with Filmora — frequently asked questions

Is Filmora good enough for professional work?

For social content, small business promotion and freelance work at that level, yes — plenty of people earn from it. For a production house or broadcast post-production role, no, and we will not pretend otherwise. Those suites run Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and this course is honest about where the ceiling is.

How quickly can I start making usable videos?

Within about two weeks. That is the main reason to choose Filmora over Premiere Pro to begin with — the tool gets out of the way, so the time goes into cutting and pacing rather than into learning an interface. The first project is deliberately publishable rather than an exercise.

Should I take this or the Premiere Pro course?

If video is your career, take Premiere Pro. If you need to publish content for your own business or as a side income and want to be productive fast, take this. Some people take this first and move up later, which works well because the editing decisions transfer completely even though the buttons do not.

Does it cover music licensing?

Yes, briefly and seriously. Using a popular track on a monetised video is the fastest way to have it taken down or demonetised, and a lot of new creators learn that the expensive way. The audio module covers where to source usable music and what the licence actually permits.
