Placement assistance

Every student gets placement assistance — that is what 100% placement assistance means. It is support for all, not a job for all. We do not promise a specific salary, a specific number of interviews, or placement at any named company, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What is included

  • A place in the monthly placement drive, held every third Saturday
  • The readiness programme every second Saturday — mock interviews and preparation
  • CV review against the specific roles you are targeting
  • Portfolio review, so your project work is presented the way a reviewer will read it
  • Access to the vacancy pool employers send directly to the Samyak network
  • Guidance on which roles realistically fit your background and which do not
  • A place in the next drive, with coaching, if you are not selected in this one

What is not included

  • Any guarantee of a job, an interview, or a particular salary
  • Placement at a named or partner company
  • Applying to jobs on your behalf
  • Support before you have completed the course and its project work
  • Visa, relocation or overseas placement assistance

Short, and aimed at the first job

Three months is not long, so this course spends none of it on theory that does not appear in an office.

Mail merge because someone will ask for two hundred letters. Lookups because a spreadsheet with two sheets always needs one. A real month in Tally because accounts assistants are asked to enter vouchers in week one. Typing speed because data entry roles test it and people lose those jobs on speed rather than on knowledge.

Where it sits between the other courses

Above Computer Basics, below DCA.

Computer Basics assumes nothing and gets you comfortable with a machine. This assumes you are comfortable and makes you useful. DCA takes a year, adds web basics, databases and deeper accounting, and gives you a diploma for applications that specifically ask for one.

If you are unsure which of the three fits, tell us what job advertisement you are looking at and we will name one rather than the longest.

Typing is measured, not mentioned

Most courses list typing and never test it.

Here it is benchmarked in the first week and again in the last, under timed conditions, so what you leave with is a number. Accuracy is trained before speed because a fast typist who makes errors is slower than a careful one once corrections are counted, and employers testing you will be counting.

What it is not

It is an institute certificate, not a government one.

If a recruitment notification names CCC or the NIELIT O Level specifically, this course will not satisfy it however well you do. Bring the advertisement in before you enrol and we will read the eligibility clause with you — that five-minute check is worth more than any assurance in the abstract.

Questions

ACC (Advance Computer Course) — frequently asked questions

How is this different from a basic computer course?

A basic computer course gets you comfortable — files, Windows, internet, a little Office. This goes further into the things an office actually asks for — mail merge, lookups, a real Tally month and typing speed under timed conditions. If you have never used a computer, start with Computer Basics and take this afterwards.

Should I take ACC or DCA?

ACC is three months and covers the practical office skills. DCA is a full year and adds web basics, database work, deeper Tally and a set of finished projects, and it gives you a diploma for applications that ask for one. If you need to be job-ready quickly, take ACC. If you need the diploma, take DCA.

Is the typing module really necessary?

For data entry and computer operator roles it is often the thing being tested, and candidates lose those jobs on speed rather than on knowledge. It is measured at the start and the end so the improvement is a number you can quote, not an impression.

Who issues this certificate?

It is an institute certificate issued by Samyak and recognised across our network. It is not a government certification. If a job notification specifically requires a government-issued certificate, you need CCC or the NIELIT O Level — bring the advertisement in and we will read the requirement with you first.
