No. Vector work in CorelDraw is construction rather than sketching — you place points and shape curves with a precision the hand cannot manage anyway. Drawing helps if you move towards illustration later, but nothing in this course requires it and plenty of strong students arrive convinced they cannot draw.
There is genuine local work, and it is mostly print — cards, invitations, shop signage, packaging, flyers for the market's businesses. Agency and product design work is concentrated elsewhere. Both are real careers; the local one starts faster and the other pays more later.
CorelDraw, if you are aiming at work in this belt, because it is what most print shops here actually run and a file you cannot open is a job you cannot take. Illustrator is the agency standard and the concepts transfer almost entirely, so the second one takes weeks rather than months.
Six to ten, and fewer strong pieces beats more mixed ones every time. An interviewer averages rather than takes your best. Learning to cut your own work is part of the course, and it is uncomfortable the first time.
